Proposed Local Zoning Regulations Regarding Medical Marijuana: What’s Being Proposed?

Changes are coming to local regulation of the medical marijuana industry. Both the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors and the Arcata City Council are both considering ordinances governing the cultivation, manufacturing, and retail distribution of medical marijuana here on the North Coast.
 
In response to the enactment of SB 643, AB 266, and AB 243, Humboldt County released a draft ordinance for the outdoor cultivation of medical marijuana in early October, 2015. The following are a few of the highlights from the draft ordinance:

California Rolls out Traffic and Infraction Ticket Amnesty Program

Certain Californians who have unpaid traffic or non-traffic infraction tickets may be eligible to participate in a new, one-time amnesty program to significantly reduce the amount of fees owed. Signed into law in June by Governor Brown, the amnesty program began on October 1 and will continue through March of 2017. This program was created to assist individuals who have had their driving privilege suspended and those who have defaulted on fines for traffic and other violations, often due to high fees added to original overdue balances.

David Nims Joins Janssen Malloy LLP
