William H. Stein

W. Timothy NeedhamWilliam H. Stein joined Janssen Malloy LLP in September 2018. Willie is a native of Lawrence, Kansas whose first exposure to Humboldt County was on a bicycle tour from Seattle to San Francisco. He appreciates the natural beauty and rural lifestyle of Humboldt County and is proud to have joined the firm.  

EDUCATION: 
Willie obtained a B.A., summa cum laude in Cultural Studies from Columbia College Chicago. He graduated near the top of his class from the University of California, Davis School of Law in 2018. While at UC Davis, Willie received Witkin Awards for Academic Excellence for the highest grade in both Constitutional Law I and Bioethics. He worked as a research assistant for Prof. Lisa Ikemoto, and was the careers chair for the American Constitution Society. Willie graduated with UC Davis Law’s Pro Bono Program certificate and the Public Service Law certificate for work in the public sector. 

PRACTICE:
During law school, Willie was an intern for the Drug Policy Alliance in Oakland, working closely with policymakers and other advocacy groups advocating for reasonable drug laws. He also worked for the Office of Legislative Counsel, advising the California Legislature about the legal effect of prospective legislation. Willie will be leaving Janssen Malloy LLP in August of 2019 to clerk for Judge Kimberly Mueller of the Eastern District of California in the 9th Circuit. He is excited about the opportunity to clerk for a year with a federal judge.
