Eureka Insurer to Pay for City's Appeal

Redwood Empire Municipal Insurance Fund ("REMIF") is the insurance company responsible for claims against the City of Eureka. REMIF filed a bond of $5.7 million dollars to appeal a decision against the City of Eureka according to the City's attorney, Nancy Delaney.

Ms. Delaney told the Times-Standard that the money the City spent for the bond will not affect the City's General Fund because the costs of the lawsuit exceeded the City's deductible, which went to pay costs of defense.
