Fortuna High School Music Depart Fundraising

The Fortuna High School Music Department is conducting its annual Friends Giving Campaign where the community is asked to contribute to the Music Department at Fortuna High School.

This year most of the funds raised will go directly towards an historic trip to the 75th Anniversary Celebration of the opening of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.  This tour will take the Band and Camerada students to Fort Mason to perform as part of a greater celebration.  The Fortuna High School Marching Band was present at the Grand Opening of the Golden Gate Bridge in 1937, and has traveled back every 25 years for the Anniversary Celebrations.  Attending the 75th Anniversary Celebration is an expensive proposition totaling over $14,000 in tour related costs.  The community’s help is needed to achieve this fund raising goal in order to ensure that every music student at Fortuna High has this wonderful music making opportunity.
